Frequently Asked Questions

  • Turo.com is a peer-to-peer marketplace for renting cars. Individual hosts, like myself, offer cars that you wouldn’t find at conventional rental agencies. Turo makes my listings more visible through their marketplace, and they handle the backend of the operation (Insurance, Damage Coverage, Payment Processing, etc.).

  • Turo offers $2M in liability coverage with every booking. As of December 2021, this is provided through Economical. More information can be found on Turo.com.

To protect yourself in the case of damages, Turo offers various policies to choose from. You can select based on the level of deductible that you’re comfortable with, or opt out if you are happy to take full responsibility or use your own insurance coverage.

  • Cameron Auto Rental ensures that our vehicles are clean and in great mechanical condition. We also provide excellent, responsive service and go above and beyond to make your trip as memorable and stress-free as possible. Cameron can deliver the car to your location, and we have the easiest contactless airport pickup/dropoff system at Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). Pickup and Dropoff is available 24/7, according to your schedule.

  • Email me at cameron@cameronauto.ca or call/text (902)-809-2202.

Sometimes cars will not be available if they are being returned or picked up already on your requested days. I can look at the schedule and tweak the start/end hours to make it work. Alternatively, I can recommend another vehicle or assist with any other requests.

  • With 24 hours or more notice, you will not be charged to cancel. On shorter notice, you will be charged. You can always reschedule by clicking “Modify Trip” on the “Trip Details” page on Turo.com.

  • Yes! It does not cost extra to have multiple drivers, but they must be added to the trip for proper insurance coverage. To do so, you can invite the other driver(s) by email on the “Trip Details” page. They will then be prompted to create a Turo account and get verified to drive. You can even add a driver while a trip is ongoing, but it’s best to do it early in case of delays in the approval process.

  • No. The primary driver on the booking must be present for the vehicle pickup. It’s in Turo’s policy because I have to verify your identity at the start of the trip. If the primary driver is not present, it will be considered a “no show cancellation”.
